In another outrageous display by a school district, a 13 year old boy has been told he couldn’t have an American flag on his bike. The flag our forefathers spilled blood to defend, has been blamed for “racial tension” and may cause “uprisings”. This type of cowardly response to the complaints of a few students who don’t know or care about our history as a country is an example of how a country can rot from the inside. All of us at the Fishkill Tea Party would like to thank each and every one of you for all of your hard work and dedication since April 15, 2009. Our nation is a better place as a result of your efforts. Tonight, we are expecting to see massive changes in the leadership of our government. This will only be the first phase of a very long battle. Starting tomorrow, we must be ready to continue our fight for the next round of elections. November of 2011 will bring us mid-term elections in local races here in Dutchess County that we must focus on. These local elections are where you can truly make a difference that will effect your day to day living and help preserve the quaility of life we enjoy here in the Hudson Valley.
