Tax Day Tea Party at Dutchess Stadium

On April 15, 2009, history was made in the Town of Fishkill. Approximately 4,000 people showed up at Dutchess Stadium to show their support for the Fishkill Tea Party. People attended not only from the Town of Fishkill, but all of the Hudson Valley as well as Pennsylvania and Connecticut, making our tea party the 25th largest in the nation!  A great time was had by all and contrary to what the mainstream media reported, our voices were heard.

I would personally like to thank everyone who came out to support our cause. You made the Fishkill Tea Party a success and because of YOU, we received both local and national media coverage. I can’t tell you how many people have contacted me from all over the country, congratulating me for our success. From the beginning, I had numerous people including friends tell me that an event that size could not happen in Fishkill. YOU proved them wrong. I would also like to thank all of my volunteers that worked so hard to make our night possible. Thank you Tommy Lee Walker, from WRWD FM, for believing in our cause and supporting us from day one. Thank you to the staff of Dutchess Stadium for your support and cooperation. Thank you Town of Fishkill Supervisor Joan Pagones for the cooperation of the Town of Fishkill to insure that our first amendment right to peacefully assemble was not denied. Thank you to the Town of Fishkill Police Department for the officers on site and the presentation of the flag by the Color Guard. Thank you to BVAC for providing EMT’s on site to insure everyones’ safety. Thank you to Pastor Marlow Dunham and Father Robert Repenning for the Invocation and Benediction. Finally, thank you to Ashley Garnot for singing the National Anthem, and all of our speakers for standing up for your beliefs and letting your voices be heard.

I have had countless emails and phone calls asking me what’s next. First of all, our website is being upgraded to keep you posted of future events, and will also include a blog to keep you informed of issues that will effect our country. Second, we are in the planning stages of another tea party probably in July. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the attendance of our next tea party will by far exceed that of the first tea party. With everyones’ help, we can make it happen!
