HR 2454 Cap and Trade Bill Stalled But Not Dead

Good news! HR 2454 did not pass before the holiday weekend. The bad news is that it is not dead yet. It has been referred back to committee. Will this bill die in committee or come back stronger? It appears that the Tea Party Patriots have been successful so far, so let’s keep up the good work.

The American Clean Energy & Security Act of 2009 – Update

The Cap & Trade (ACES) Act has been referred to eight committees; these are the targets we need to focus on right now.  Our research indicates that Waxman doesn’t have enough votes to pass HR 2454 on the floor so it has been moved into these committees.

The First Major Victory For Tea Party Patriots

This is a great article from Investors Business Daily that confirms that the Tea Party Movement is having an effect. Let’s all keep up the good fight and we can have the same kind of victories here in New York and on a national level.

California Clarity

Tax Revolt: Californians’ rejection of five tax-and-spend ballot measures on Tuesday’s ballot was the first outcome of a national tea party movement that elitists can no longer dismiss.

Long considered a deep-blue state grown tolerant of high taxes, California surprised the political class and media by easily defeating all but one of the six propositions intended to close a $21 billion deficit.

HR 2454 Cap and Trade Bill In Pelosi’s Hands

HR 2454 is out of committee and in Nancy Pelosi’s hands right now. Please read the release below from Tea Party Patriots. Org. I do intend to write about other issues, but right now, this is the most important issue facing our Country.

URGENT! Cap and Trade Bill is currently in Nancy Pelosi’s hands. It was voted out of committee late last night, and she’s deciding whether to put it into another committee (and add goodies) for a vote today (to fast track before the holiday weekend) They’ve hired a speed reader to get through it! PLEASE pick up the phone (I pasted phone numbers on the very bottom of this email.) If they ask for your name and zip code-and say that you’re not in their district, let them know that you’re with Tea Party Patriots - we all have email lists and blogs and would like to quote what their response is. Tell them to vote NO. We just stopped California 1A and we’re watching! Please forward to as many as you can today!

HR 2454 Cap and Trade Update

I have been following the progress of the Cap and Trade legislation all day. It seems that many congressional offices are being flooded with phone calls against this bill. Unfortunately, the Democrats in the House have taken some unprecedented steps to get this legislation passed by tomorrow. Below is a copy of a letter that I received about the current status of this bill.

Henry Waxman is still standing by his pledge to pass the cap
and trade Carbon Tax by end of day TODAY and the Democrats
are so desperate that they’ve added a new twist..

The Wall Street Journal reports that — due to the possibility
that Republicans will require a formal reading of the 1,000-
page bill to slow its progress — Democrats have a speed-reader
standing by.

Cap and Trade Bill To Be Voted On By Memorial Day Weekend

Welcome to the first blog entry from Fishkill Tea Party. We start off today with a very important action alert from the Tea Party Patriots in Atlanta. If this is not acted on immediately, our lives will be changed forever.

ACTION ALERT – CAP & TRADE

HR 2454 is almost a law. Congress is fast tracking Cap & Trade so we need to fast track our phone calls, faxes and emails. This bill is out of Committee and is being voted on Thursday, 5/21 and Friday 5/22. They want this done before Memorial Day weekend.

We MUST get off the couch and hit the phones, email, and fax them
We MUST do it now and often and burn up their lines.
Call EVERYONE your friends and family and ask them to call Congress. Call both state and federal congressional offices.

Tax Day Tea Party at the Stadium

Tax Day Tea Party at Dutchess Stadium

Tax Day Tea Party at Dutchess Stadium

On April 15, 2009, history was made in the Town of Fishkill. Approximately 4,000 people showed up at Dutchess Stadium to show their support for the Fishkill Tea Party. People attended not only from the Town of Fishkill, but all of the Hudson Valley as well as Pennsylvania and Connecticut, making our tea party the 25th largest in the nation!  A great time was had by all and contrary to what the mainstream media reported, our voices were heard.
